Ended my birthday by watching the Mr. Rogers documentary , Won’t You Be My Neighbor? , last night in the hospital room. Go watch it, y’all. The simple message, “I like you just the way you are,” is something every human heart desperately needs to hear. It is a strange and beautiful thing to celebrate the gift of a new life so closely to the anniversary of so much loss and heartache (9/11), & yet, that feels like life, doesn’t it? Joy and sorrow and beauty all mixed up together, & in the midst of it all, I’ve so often found the beautiful reminder that we are not alone. Looking at some beautiful images our precious nanny @kt.sura took, & I love that they remind me of that strong truth…we are NOT alone. Grieving with you today if you lost someone you loved to 9/11, or really if you’ve lost someone at all, & just want to remind you that you are seen and loved , & that you are not alone.
